FAQ

What are the different breath types?

At Ninth Dimension Breathwork we have a range of breathing modalities we utilise harnessing both modern conscious connected breathing as well as utilising ancient Pranayama techniques

Conscious connected breathing also known as somatic breathing or transformational breathing, often known as circular or rebirthing breathwork, emphasises continuous, rhythmic breath without interruption, typically for emotional release and deeper states of consciousness. It’s rooted in contemporary breathwork and therapy, aiming to reduce stress and facilitate emotional processing. In contrast, pranayama breathing, derived from ancient yogic traditions, involves various controlled breathing techniques like alternate nostril breathing and breath retention, focusing on regulating prana for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Pranayama techniques serve broader purposes, including calming the mind, balancing energy channels, and preparing for meditation while offering a wider array of specific breathing

For the best experience, we advise against eating right before a session. This allows your body to focus on the breathwork rather than digestion. Ideally, refrain from consuming a heavy meal for at least four hours before the session and consider a light snack two hours in advance.
