Group Sessions

Group Breathwork Sessions, Cardiff

Active, somatic breathwork in small, contained groups. Powerful, activating sessions, held safely, at your own pace.

What It Is

Group Sessions are themed, active breathwork sessions using conscious connected breathing: a continuous breathing pattern that can shift you into a different state, physically and emotionally. Themes vary: identity, the inner child, abundance, grief, and others, so there’s usually something relevant to wherever you’re at.

Worth knowing: the theme is a starting point, not a destination. Your breath tends to take you where you actually need to go, not necessarily where the title suggests. You might come to an abundance session and find yourself deep in inner child work instead. That’s normal, and it’s part of how this works. Equally, you might come and simply find it deeply relaxing, with none of the “inner work” surfacing at all… that’s just as valid an outcome, not a lesser one.

Sessions run for 2 hours, with 6 to 12 people in the room, never more than 12. Small on purpose, so I can actually hold the space properly rather than just run a class.

What to Expect

Before we start, I’ll run through a safety briefing: what the breathing technique involves, what might come up for you physically and emotionally, and how to look after yourself throughout. You’ll always have the choice to breathe through your nose or your mouth, and to move between an activating pace and a much slower, calming one, depending on what you need in the moment.

Physically, it’s common to feel tingling sensations, warmth, lightheadedness, or a sense of emotional release, laughing, crying, shaking; all of it is normal. Some people have a big release. Others feel calm, clear, or simply well-rested. Both are completely valid responses. There’s no “correct” experience.

You’re never pushed. You can slow down, pause, or stop at any point, and I’m holding the room the whole time to make sure that’s true in practice, not just in theory.

Before You Come

Please let me know before your first session if any of the following apply to you, as they may mean the activating breathing used here isn’t suitable for you:

  • Epilepsy or any seizure disorder
  • Cardiovascular disease or heart conditions, including history of heart attack or high blood pressure
  • Glaucoma, detached retina, or recent eye surgery
  • History of aneurysm
  • Severe asthma
  • Pregnancy, at any stage
  • Recent significant surgery
  • A diagnosis such as bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, or complex PTSD
  • Recent significant trauma you haven’t yet worked through with a professional

If any of the above apply to you, please contact me before booking. It doesn’t necessarily mean breathwork isn’t for you. It usually means the activating, connected breathing used in Group Sessions may not be suitable, and a downregulating technique or a Deep Reset session, where I can adapt the pace properly to you, might be a better fit. If you’re unsure whether something applies, ask me, or check with your GP. Please don’t attend under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.

Aftercare

Give yourself a bit of space after a session rather than rushing straight into your day; some people feel energised, others feel like they want to go home and rest. Both are normal. I’ll always check in with you before you leave, and you’re welcome to message me afterwards if anything comes up that you want to talk through.
